2025 Wayne Education Network STEAM Expo

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is holding our 11^th annual STEAM Fair on Wednesday, February 19th at the Maxwell Center from 8:00 – 1:00 pm. The FREE event is open to 8th grade students and will help them to understand the potential in the areas of STEAM; to help them to build confidence and competence among their peers; and to foster a spirit of scientific inquiry.
 
The afternoon will be a FUN filled family day of all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math. We will have many opportunities for attendees to participate with hands on activities including:

• CO2 powered Dragster racing
• Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles Gaming Tournament
• Fortnite Duos No Build Gaming Tournament
• 4H Robotics demonstration
• Oversized Sling Shot Corn Hole Game provided by Team Seegars Fence
• Impact of the fall of a hard hat demonstration provided by Daniels & Daniels Construction
• Robotics,  Car Design, Electronics, 3D Printing, and Coding demonstration by Wayne County Public Library
• Demonstration of a "Flame Tube" by team JSmith Civil
• Dance performances by In Motion Entertainment, Artistic Dance Academy, Goldsboro School of Ballet, and Legacy Dance
• University of Mount Olive mobile STEM Lab
• University of Mount Olive Animal Science department will have a display that includes donkeys
• University of Mount Olive Computer Science/Coding display
• City of Goldsboro Fire Truck
• Wayne County Sheriff SWAT Truck, Helicopter, and COPE Vehicle
• Mobile Planetarium
• 4H Robotics Team demonstrations
• Wayne Cooperative Extension Exhibits
• Wayne UNC Health Care interactive Heart & Brain displays
